Hoy vamos a ver las colocaciones que suelen usarse a menudo con los verbos “catch” y “save”. Seguramente, la mayoría ya los conoceréis, puesto que su traducción al castellano es practicamente idéntica, aún así, he querido incluir un ejemplo en aquellas colocaciones que pueden dar un poco de confusión (que son pocas).
Eso sí, si eres latinoamericano, en vez de decir “coger”, sustitúyelo por “agarrar o tomar”, así nos ahorramos unos cuantos malentedidos graciosos 😛
Colocaciones con catch
- Catch fire – Prender fuego, incendiar
Gasoline can catch fire very easily.

- Save someone´s life – Salvar la vida de alguien
- Save someone a seat – Guardar el asiento a alguien
- Save yourself the trouble – No esforzarte, ahorrarte las molestias

- Save your breath – Ahorrarte la saliva, no gastar saliva, no decir nada.
- Save as – Guardar como
Save the day – Producir un buen resultado de un resultado que se esperaba negativo.
