Phrasal verb of the day – Set aside

El phrasal verb de hoy, concretamente set aside, tiene el significado en castellano de mantener un poco de «algo» para poder usarlo en el futuro. Normalmente se utiliza cuando estamos hablando de dinero, de ahorrar un poco para poder gastarlo posteriormente en algo que tenemos en mente.

Veamos unos ejemplos:

  • If I set fifty euros aside every week, by the end of the year I´ll have enough to pay for a trip to Japan.
  • Most people need to set aside a lot of money for their old age.
  • He set aside some cash for use at the weekend.
