 – Complementos directo e indirecto

Algunos de los verbos más frecuentes pueden regir un complemento directo y uno indirecto. Pertenecen a esta categoría verbos como bring, buy, cook, get, give, make, offer, order, read, sell, send, show, take, teach, tell, write. Las oraciones que incluyen dos complementos se construyen según este modelo:

                                               Complemento indirecto                             Complemento directo

I offered                             my friends                                                         some sándwiches.

Mr Cook bought              his wife                                                                              a car.

Sin embargo, cuando el interlocutor desea realzar el complemento indirecto, cambia el orden de la oración e introduce dicho complemento siempre mediante to, si bien los verbos buy, cook, get, make, y order, requieren la preposición for:

                                               Complemento indirecto                             Complemento indirecto
