| Estilo Directo (Direct Speech) | Estilo Indirecto (Reported Speech) |
|---|---|
| Now | Then, at that moment |
| Today / Tonight | That day / That night |
| This morning | That morning |
| Yesterday | The day before, the previous day |
| Tomorrow | The following day, the next day |
| Last month | The month before, the previous month |
| Here | There |
|---|---|---|
| Present Simple | Past Simple | He said (that) he ate hamburgers every day. |
| Present Continuous | Past Continuous | He said (that) he was reading a book. |
| Past Simple | Past Perfect | He said (that) he had bought a new laptop. |
| Past Continuous | Past Perfect Continuous | He said (that) he had been playing tennis. |
| Present Perfect | Past Perfect | He said (that) he had finished his homework. |
| Future (Will) | Conditional (Would) | He said (that) he would go. |
| Future (Going to) | Was/Were going to | He said (that) he was going to travel. |
| Modal: Can / Must | Could / Had to | He said he could play / had to go. |
? Nota Importante: El Past Perfect y el condicional Would no cambian. Tampoco cambian los verbos modales could, should y might.
Luke: “What are you doing?”
Luke asked me what I was doing.
Preguntas de Sí/No
Scott: “Is that the cat?”
Scott asked me if that was the cat.
