Hoy vamos a ver las colocaciones más utilizadas con el verbo Go. Las collocations con dicho verbo se suelen utilizar muy a menudo, ya que como sabéis, este verbo transmite movibilidad, y una de las cosas que más hacernos es eso, movernos, que no somos árboles 😉
- Go abroad / overseas – Viajar al extranjero
Ejemplo: I think we should go abroad with your family next summer.
- Go astray – Perderse
Ejemplo: Laura became a teacher in order to help teenagers who go astray.
- Go bad – Ponerse mal, una persona que va por mal camino
Ejemplo: She used to be a good girl but she went bad when she started to date that awful boy.
- Go bald – Quedarse calvo, perder el pelo
Ejemplo: The idea of going bald bothers me too much.
- Go bankrupt – Arruinarse, declararse en bancarrota
Ejemplo: The company is in debt and is likely to go bankrupt soon.
- Go blind – Quedarse ciego
Ejemplo: My old dog is starting to go blind.
- Go crazy – Volverse loco
Ejemplo: I think I’m going crazy studying this Master: this morning I found my notes in the trash.
- Go deaf – Volverse sordo
Ejemplo: I prefer going deaf than listening to you.
- Go mad / angry – Enloquecer
Ejemplo: If you keep talking about your ex-boyfriend I will going mad.
- Go missing – Desaparecer
Ejemplo: Her cat went missing a week ago.
- Go online – Conectarse (a internet), estar conectado a internet, estar online
Ejemplo: Most newspapers needed to go online or dissapear.
- Go on a date – Tener una cita romántica
Ejemplo: Would you like to go on a date this Saturday night? I’ll pick you up at nine.
- Go out of business – Quebrar,
Ejemplo: The company went out of business during the recession.
- Go sailing – Ir / salir a navegar
Ejemplo: We’re going sailing next weekend.
- Go to war – ir a la guerra
